Retirement Guru (RG) is my long-term project.
Not a brand built on noise. Not a finance page chasing trends. But a quiet body of work around one idea:
I believe retirement should be designed. Not drifted into.
Over the years, I’ve studied financial independence frameworks, dividend income strategies, social security systems, and the lived experiences of early retirees across Singapore. What I’ve learned is simple:
Money is necessary. But money alone is not enough.
Through RG, I write about the intersection of income, health, purpose, and experiences — the four elements that shape a fulfilling retirement. I explore the different levels of financial self-sufficiency, from Lean FIRE to Fat FIRE, and what each really means in practice — not just on spreadsheets, but in daily life.
My work focuses on:
• Dividend investing and income strategies • CPF optimization and retirement planning • Financial independence frameworks • Lifestyle design after full-time work • Building agency before traditional retirement age
I’m less interested in “retiring early” as a headline.
I’m more interested in helping ordinary Singaporeans build optionality — so work becomes a choice, not a necessity.
This space is reflective, practical, and intentional.
Because retirement isn’t about stopping.
It’s about stepping off the treadmill and choosing how to walk the next stretch of road.
