All of us have dreams, and all of us set goals to help us achieve our dreams. Unfortunately, many of us fail to accomplish our goals and hence our dreams.
So what do the rich and powerful know that we don’t? After all, we all have the same number of hours in a day. So whatever they can accomplish, we can too.
What I have found is that the rich and powerful set goals differently.
Firstly, the rich and powerful set action goals. Unlike us, the rich and powerful don’t set “non-action” goals. What do I mean? Non-action goals are what I define as goals that are physically impossible for us to do. For example, if you set a goal of losing weight, there is in reality nothing you can actually do to lose weight. Sure, you can eat less, or you can exercise more. These are activities that you do and, if you do them, then losing weight is a by-product of what you do. In this instance, an action goal would be to exercise 30 minutes a day, or to eat only salad for lunch, or to do weight training three times a week. Goals that are action-oriented are more effective as they are things you control.
Secondly, the rich and powerful stack their goals. Stacking is the process of setting synergistic goals. As the multiple goals work in concert with each other, the odds of succeeding is higher. Let us use the…
