April 2022 was starting to look like the end of the dark days of COVID-19. International travel was starting to pick up, and the easing of safe management measures meant that businesses could finally start operating at higher capacities. I finally held a glimmer of hope that life was indeed good, and I was feeling great!
Unfortunately, all this ended when my courier business became the victim of ransomware. While there were bigger players in the market, my business has carved out a niche and our key differentiator was being a dependable two-hour courier service. In essence, if you had physical documents and you needed to move them quickly from point to point, we were the ones you called.
At the heart of this system was a computer software that tracks and monitors the location of all our couriers. With this bird’s eye view, we efficiently routed our couriers from pick-up to drop-off to ensure we made the deliveries on time.
