In defense of LTA (Land Transport Authority) ERP2.0
In a society filled with educated individuals, it is common to find fault with decisions made by public servants. From seemingly illogical policies to frustrating bureaucratic processes, many are quick to believe that they can do better.
But consider this ....
Public servants are not mindless droids blindly following orders to make life difficult for the public they serve. Many are dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to serve the public good. Behind every decision is a team of experts who have carefully considered all the options balancing the constraints. Thus, while it may be tempting to dismiss certain decisions as nonsensical, there is often a strong rationale for it. Given the same constraints, I am quite certain we would come to the same conclusions.
So let us stop vilifying the public servants tasked to implement the ERP2.0 system. Instead, let us recognize that we do not fully understand all the factors at play, and that behind every decision is a human being striving to do his or her best.
