Member-only story
I was happy to have had the chance to have coffee with an old friend whom I consider a mentor last week. My friend suffered a stroke and is recovering well.
During our conversation, he shared three life lessons from his brush with death:
Value Health Above All: Health is truly wealth. The stroke I experienced made me acutely aware of how fragile our bodies are. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and routine medical check-ups can make all the difference.
Live with Purpose: Every day is a gift, and it’s important to live each moment with purpose and intention. Whether it is spending time with loved ones or contributing to a cause close to our hearts, finding meaning in our daily lives matters.
Cultivate Empathy: Through my journey of recovery, I’ve realized the power of empathy in fostering understanding and connection. Empathy allows us to walk in another person’s shoes, to truly understand their struggles, fears, and triumphs. In doing so, we not only strengthen our relationships but also create a more compassionate and understanding world.
In answer to your question, my friend, of why God has given you a second chance, it is to share these lessons with us. Thank you!
