Retirement Guru: Bucket Lists
Today I checked off another one from my bucket list — dragon boating.
Creating a bucket list is an exciting way to embark on new adventures and make the most of your post-work life. Here are some tips to help you create a bucket list of 100 experiences:
- Reflect on your interests: Think about what you enjoy doing, what you’re passionate about, and what you’ve always wanted to try.
- Categorize experiences: Group your list into categories like travel, adventure, personal growth, food, culture, and sports to ensure a diverse range of experiences.
- Make it specific: Instead of “travel more,” specify “visit 10 new countries” or “explore 5 national parks in the US.”
- Include a mix of big and small experiences: Balance grand adventures with smaller, more achievable experiences, like trying a new restaurant or taking a cooking class.
- Prioritize: Identify your top 10–20 experiences and focus on those first.
- Be realistic: Consider your physical limitations, budget, and time constraints when creating your list.
- Make it flexible: Don’t be too rigid; allow for changes and adjustments as your interests evolve.
