Dear younger self,
As I approach my CPF age, and I reflect on my life journey, there are three insights I wish to impart upon you. These insights that have been hard-earned, and if you heed them, will be life changing.
Firstly, you must understand that life’s curriculum differs vastly from the structured environment of academia. In school, you are taught the lesson before facing the test. However, life operates in reverse. You are presented with challenges first and the lessons later. Thus, instead of questioning why fate has chosen you for such trials, embrace them as opportunities for growth and ask yourself, “What is life trying to teach me?” It is through this introspection and willingness to learn that you become better.
Secondly, in the pursuit of career and success, it is essential to remember that these are but vehicles to a greater purpose. While dedication to your professional endeavors is commendable, it is equally important not to lose sight of the essence of life itself. True fulfillment occurs when you balance your work with the pursuit of your passion. Do not become a slave to your career but rather become architects of your destiny by shaping your professional paths to be in alignment with your values and aspirations.
