A fellow resident recently approached me and complained that the government is useless — this happens occasionally as they know I am in the Grassroots.
He said he was laid off a year ago, has been unable to get a job and the government is not doing anything to help him. As I know him from around the neighborhood, I told him the following story ….
“One stormy day, a town was on the brink of a massive flood. As the water levels rose, everyone quickly recognized the danger and started to evacuate. However, there was one man who didn’t seem to be bothered. He sat calmly in his rocker and prayed to God to save him.
When a concerned neighbor noticed the man sitting idly, he approached him and urged him to evacuate with him in his car. The man, however, turned down the offer, firmly believing that God would rescue him.
As the floodwaters continued to rise, the man had to move to the second floor of his home. He continued…
