Donald Trump sees the world in stark, transactional terms. Relationships are not about trust or mutual respect. They are about power, utility, and dominance. Everyone he encounters falls into one of three categories:

  • People to be used — assets who serve his purpose
  • Obstacle to be destroyed — a threat that must be eliminated
  • Irrelevant and to be ignored — those who do not matter

This worldview shapes how he engages with allies, opponents, and the general public. Understanding his lens provides insight into his leadership style, his treatment of those around him, and the way he navigates conflict.

People to Be Used

For Trump, relationships are purely transactional. If you can provide him with loyalty, influence, or strategic advantage, you are useful. This applies to political allies, media figures, and even world leaders. Praise him publicly, defend him aggressively, and he’ll reward you — until you’re no longer needed. When you’re no longer useful, you are labeled weak, disloyal, or a failure; your contributions are erased or rewritten; and you might become the next obstacle to destroy.
